Training Your Readers with Cookie Content

In my previous few posts I’ve talked about cookie content and what it is but not really about how it can be used and what use it is to your visitors or readers. Well, here’s an interesting idea on how you can use cookie content to benefit you.
When someone opens up their emails or their RSS reader they are faced with a number of items, all fighting for their attention. They’ll either go through their list and delete anything they don’t recognise or don’t find interesting to clean up their list.
Cookie content can help your emails stay in their inbox and get read. Good cookie content tends to attract the reader’s attention first so before they open up any other emails they are likely to go for your email and see what’s inside.
By regularly using cookie content as your email subject you’re literally training that reader to consume your content, because the content is beneficial and appealing.
Each time they read your work, they feel better. It doesn’t take long for you to become a pleasurable habit with that reader. (Even better, you’re 100% fat free.)
Does this mean you never get to promote yourself? Not at all. You can make high-quality offers regularly. Just be sure you’re including enough cookies to keep your reader’s attention and interest.
You probably don’t want to create content that consists of nothing but cookies. That can give even the most self-indulgent reader indigestion.
But include enough that you’re always training your audience to open your emails, read your blog posts, and pass along your special downloads. You’ll find that the more you reward them, the more they reward you.
Have you seen any benefit from creating cookie content? How have you used it and what was the response? Let us know by posting a comment below.
